Building energy use tracking starts in '11

SEATTLE — This week, Mayor Mike McGinn approved an ordinance that requires owners of commercial and multi-family buildings to calculate energy use ratings and make the information available to the city, renters and potential buyers.

The ordinance will go into effect on April 1, 2011.
