For green to grow, codes need to change

The Omega Center for Sustainable Living in Rhinebeck, N.Y., is one of the first projects in the country to seek certification as a living building.
Sustainable development is becoming more commonplace. But for green builders to truly hit their stride, the regulatory systems of cities and agencies need to be significantly revamped, according to a new report from the Cascadia Region Green Building Council.
