Stanwood station opening Nov. 21

STANWOOD — Officials will celebrate the grand opening of the passenger rail station in Stanwood at 9 a.m. Nov. 21.

HDR Engineering designed the $5 million, state-funded project, which Interwest Construction of Burlington built. With community input, HDR architect Donn Hogan designed the station's canopies. In a nod to Stanwood's agricultural heritage, the canopies resemble the roofline of a barn.
