Kodiak's new $18M shipyard is complete

  • City officials hope the yard will attract vessel owners who previously traveled to Seward, Homer or even Seattle for repairs.
  • KODIAK, Alaska (AP) — It's taken a decade and $18 million dollars but the city of Kodiak has a new shipyard capable of servicing 660-ton vessels.

    The hope is the yard will attract vessel owners who previously traveled to Seward, Homer or even the Seattle area for hull cleaning and repairs.
