State seeks bids on $200M viaduct project

The state issued a call for bids yesterday for construction of a new roadway to replace the southern mile of the Alaskan Way Viaduct, between South King and Holgate streets.

Washington State Department of Transportation officials expect construction will cost between $200 million and $250 million. Ground breaking is set for March.
