SEATTLE — The Washington State Department of Transportation today plans to start testing noise-reduction measures for driving in-water piles for the new state Route 520 floating bridge.
Tests will be conducted for about 25 days in Lake Washington and Portage Bay. The study will help determine the best pile installation methods to minimize impacts on the surrounding communities, as well as nearby fish and wildlife.
