Ballard man builds a future, with Legos

Joel Baker assembled this model last week in California. He won a full-time job as a Lego builder.

Joel Baker said one of his mother's most vivid memories of him as a child was on a visit to a toy store when he was 18 months old. He spotted a box of Legos and began screaming and pointing. She bought him a Lego set, and said he immediately tore open the box and began playing with the building blocks — in his stroller, at the checkout counter.
