SPOKANE (AP) — The state Health Department has rejected plans for a $175 million expansion at Spokane's Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
The Spokesman-Review reports that the expansion would have added 152 beds, making Sacred Heart the state's biggest hospital within five years. Construction had been expected to create up to 700 jobs.
