GAO drops Hanford contract protest

RICHLAND (AP) — The Government Accountability Office has dismissed a protest against a $3 billion cleanup contract award at the Hanford nuclear reservation.

The dismissal doesn't yet allow Lockheed Martin Integrated Technology to take over support services at the south-central Washington site. The GAO says the Energy Department must first address some concerns and made a new decision on the contract.
