With layoffs continuing, salaries frozen and worker morale falling, it might seem pointless to even think about hiring. But Char Kaufer of Turner Construction Co. says companies need to be strategic about retaining the employees they have and recruiting new ones when the economy comes back.
Kaufer is Northwest director of human resources at Turner. She spoke at an Associated General Contractors roundtable about human resources last week.
