City to build streetcar plaza

    Westlake will be closed between Olive and Stewart to create a new streetcar plaza.

    Next year, the block of Westlake Avenue between Stewart Street and Olive Way will be closed to motorized vehicles as part of a plan to create a new plaza for the station at the southern terminus of the South Lake Union Streetcar, according to a Seattle senior transportation planner.
