Engineer calls for big shift in design and construction

    The Universidade Agostinho Neto in Angola is in a hot, humid climate. The team studied the site, and designed and positioned buildings to capture breezes, cooling the space without air conditioning.

    Guy Battle, a world-renowned engineer who spoke recently in Seattle, said weaning ourselves off fossil fuels won't happen until buildings respond to their environment.
