Two honor, seven merit and six citation awards were given out; 61 projects were entered.
The program promotes quality design in public projects in Washington or by Washington-based AIA architects. The awards go to publicly funded projects designed in the last five years and are intended to honor the client as well as the architect. AIA Washington's goal is to recognize and reinforce public agencies striving to produce excellence in design of their projects.
Jurors were Larry McFarland, McFarland Marceau Architects, Vancouver, B.C.; Mark A. Engberg, Colab Architecture + Urban Design, Portland; and Randall Teal, associate professor of Architecture, University of Idaho.
